Travel Diary: The Pacific Northwest Part 1

Oyster Dome Hike, Bellingham WA
I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest. Every time I visit, I'm taken away by the scenery and landscapes it offers.

Park Butte Lookout, Mount Baker Wilderness
One of the more exciting things that we did on this trip was to stay in a Fire Lookout in the Mount Baker Wilderness. We hiked up with our backpacks and secured the Lookout at 9am. We ended up sleeping in tents because there were 7 people, and not enough room comfortably to fit us all.

The mountain was a little bit smoky because of the forest fires in British Columbia, but we still had a great view.

If you like backpacking and staying overnight, I would definitely recommend Park Butte. It holds great views because you are sitting right on top of a ledge that looks out over all the mountains. The windows are also all glass, so you have a view whether inside or out on the deck.

In Vancouver, we went to Lynn Creek Canyon, which holds beautiful waterfalls, crystal clear pools, and a suspension bridge. Some people were cliff jumping at the pool, and others were slowly wading in. The pool was very cold, and it was hard to stay in too long.
