Weekday Cape Trip

The famous Chatham Bars Inn cabanas on the beach.
On Wednesday and Thursday, we took off to the Cape. The Cape is one of my favorite places because of how charming and quaint it is. If you're looking for the charm of the East Coast, head to the Cape. We stayed in Chatham, often known for it's great white sharks looming off the edge of the bay and in the outskirts of the islands.

Hydrangeas near the ocean.

One of the prettiest things on Cape Cod is all the wonderful gardens. Each house is filled with flowers of all different colors; roses of pink and white, hydrangeas colored pink, purple, blue. They fill every inch of space and give the surrounding area even more charm. The staple is the Hydrangea bushes. We were told that next weekend would be the Hydrangea festival, where several houses known for their displays would be on a route for visitors.

Boat on Chatham Harbor.
Chatham Fisheries
The Chatham Fisheries was so cool to see. Boats went in and out of the harbor, grey seals swam in joyful circles, trying to catch a fish from off a boat.

The grey seals were friendly, but a little bit camera shy.

The fish market carried the smell of fresh fish right up to our noses. The weather had a bit of a chill coming off of the ocean and we wore thin sweaters. Spectators stood at the edge of the port to watch the fishing boats come in and unload their catch for the day.

I wore my Tevas every day. They were perfect for walking on the beach and through the rough beach rocks.

Fortunately, we never had any rain. The second we returned home, it started to downpour. Unfortunately, my camera died while I was out and I couldn't get more pictures of the town. Hopefully I will be back soon.
